Abstract

This paper will present the process and results for the What’s the Evidence project scoping review. This Australian study deliberately focuses on a holistic view of teacher quality, rather than the more regularly used professional standards that often focus on teaching. A scoping review was chosen as the most comprehensive way to examine contemporary research (2011-2021) for indicators of teacher quality. The PRISMA-ScR structure was employed for the review process. A team of 11 researchers engaged in multiple screening processes, reducing the original publication total of 20,854 down to 1,078 publications for indicator analysis and coding. Through content analysis guided by our construct of teacher quality these indicators were coded into seven sets containing 51 indicator categories.
