Exploring Knowledge-Sharing Patterns of NFT Influencers on Twitter

Abstract

Our work focuses on Twitter as a space where people share Non-Fungible Tokens (NFT) knowledge. NFTs are like unique digital certificates (Chalmers et al., 2022) that have recently gained popularity. We build on work analyzing tweets by influencers (Marcelo & Marcelo, 2021) to examine knowledge sharing patterns and modalities used in the tweets of NFT influencers. We identify 6 knowledge sharing categories and find that Influencers displayed varying knowledge sharing patterns, and sustained interactions across the content of their tweets. Multimedia was widespread across tweets and represented a critical component in understanding Influencer content. This analysis contributes to understanding knowledge sharing patterns of NFT Influencers on Twitter, and new Twitter features to analyze knowledge sharing patterns.
