Abstract

In this study, we describe the development of a sign language formative assessment tool, CopyRight that can be used with deaf or hard of hearing (DHH) students. Moreover, using a single subject descriptive analysis, we examine DHH students’ use of CopyRight and their progress on this assessment over a seven-month period. We found that students spent about 30 to 60 days on each level of CopyRight. Results indicate that CopyRight can be used as a general outcome measure in the classroom and is sensitive to change over a short period of time.
