Thu, April 13, 11:40am to 1:10pm CDT (11:40am to 1:10pm CDT), SwissĂ´tel Chicago, Floor: Event Centre, 1st Floor, Montreux 1

Abstract

This paper will explore culturally responsive teacher education based on data collected from two universities, one in Nova Scotia and one in Finland. The Fulbright Foundation funded research project involved interviewing program faculty and staff, observing courses focused on local culture and education, and visiting teacher candidate practicum sites (ex: local schools where university students practice teaching). This paper will discuss how teacher educators in international contexts address issues of diversity in their teacher education programs.
