Abstract

This experimental paper examines embodied, emotional, affective, and spiritual “experiences” and how they can be helpful for a novice scholar in thinking and feeling her scholarship. Then, what? I reexamine interview data collected for an extensive study conducted with five Black Women with Dis/Abilities (BWD) on their educational experiences. I attend to what is occurring during the analysis of the interviews to present examples of the BWD’s material and relational experiences towards my own emotional, affective, and spiritual understandings. This paper examines collective affected and affective “experiences” with and between BWDs and myself as a BWD researcher. This experimental paper will provide research on the spiritual and affective experiences of furthering scholarship post-PhD.
