This paper examines the work of teaching in the context of environmental devastation. Drawing on theories of climate and environmental justice as articulated from a Southern perspective, we use data from semi-structured interviews with teachers in 6 contrasting settings in Pakistan to examine the problems teachers face as a result of global warming and environmental degradation as well as how they make sense of these conditions. Preliminary results suggest that teachers are altering their pedagogical approaches as a result of global warming, whereas government and development organizations policies ignore or focus on denial of responsibility or escalate global warming challenges.
