This study analyzes the educational credentials of attorneys at elite corporate law firms to assess the role of elite educational institutions in employment near the top of the US earnings distribution. Web-scraped data on the universe of attorneys at six leading corporate law firms (n=6,990) provides evidence that elite educational institutions are far less important in structuring access to elite careers, at least in law, than existing literature asserts.
