The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted normal school operations nationwide, heightening the level of stress and burnout and adversely affecting working conditions for teachers. In response to growing concerns about a mass exodus of teachers, this study investigates teachers’ intentions to remain in the profession during the pandemic years. The results show that a large percentage of teachers intending to remain teaching during the pandemic years. These results were similar for all teachers and for non-retiring teachers, and could be attributed to the strong collegial and collaborative working conditions perceived by the teachers in the studied schools. This study has relevance for school leaders and policy makers regarding maintaining a teacher workforce during times of crisis.
