Abstract

In our highly-connected world, our truth and the truth of our communities are being revealed in virtual social media forums and discussions, yet academic research has not quite embraced this reality. My paper explores using netnography, a methodology that analyzes social media data, as an untapped resource for Disability Studies in Education scholars. I outline and model the steps of a basic netnographic search, align the methodology with the DSE tenets, and present suggestions for application.
