Abstract

In this study, we use Museus’ (2014) Culturally Engaging Campus Environments (CECE) model as the theoretical framework to examine the role that faculty and higher education practitioners play on cultivating a culturally engaging campus environment for undocumented students. We used a participatory action research approach and a multiple qualitative case study research design to answer the following two research questions: 1) To what extent do faculty and higher education practitioners foster equity and inclusion among undocumented students? And 2) In what ways, if any, are faculty and higher education practitioners promoting campus environments that are relevant and responsive to the cultural backgrounds and social identities of undocumented students? We conclude this paper with implications for higher education research and practice.
