Abstract

Purpose: In Chile, neoliberal policies impacted an educational system characterised by accountability and limited participation of educative actors, fostering perceptions of injustice. Accordingly, perspectives of Organisational Justice (OJ) manifested by school district staff are explored.
Design: Multiple Case Study in four Chilean school districts. Thematic analysis of 48 semi-structured interviews.
Findings: Unfair Distributive and Procedural OJ, but positive opinions of Interactional OJ. Noteworthy, leaders are vital in promoting the latter.
Limitations: This research was conducted in Chile, limiting its reach to this context.
Originality: Chile has been described as an example of economic development but at the cost of high inequality. This research provides insights of OJ, which has been an under-researched topic in the Latin American context.
