Abstract

A significant number of college students transfer to a different institution during their undergraduate journey, yet barriers continue to exist. This scholarly paper seeks to interrogate how institutional power within four-year institutions sustain a deficit belief system against transfer student success that is based on meritocracy and social stratification.
