This theoretical paper aims to identify the ways in which the settler ideology is constructed and re-constructed through Settler-State Sponsored education. More precisely, the paper suggests that Settler Colonial State-Sponsored education perpetuates the conditions for settler colonialism’s reproduction via a settler-citizen formation supported by three principles: (1) distribution of education; (2) control over the epistemology; and (3) prescription of social behaviours. Additionally, the engagement with the concept of mesopedy (Rollo, 2018) uncovers fundamental power imbalances in education, and brings into the analysis the experiences of various racialized individuals.
