Abstract

Although anxiety has become the most diagnosed mental illness, the reported patient statistics such as total count of patients do not reflect the true numbers. Most commonly the nature of anxiety can easily be marked as stress, causing discrepancy in the results. Similar to other fields, engineering students faces higher levels of anxiety. Much of this can be attributed to measures of academic performance such as test or exams. However, there can be factors directly of indirectly associated to test or exams, that trigger anxiety in students and eventually have an influence on performance. The goal of this paper is to explore the existing literature for identifying the influence engineering students test anxiety have on their academic performance.
