Teacher self-efficacy has been observed to be an “important construct for CS [Computer Science] teachers’ professional development because it can predict both teaching behaviors as well as student outcomes” (Zhou, Nguyen, Fischer, Richardson, & Warschauer, M., 2020). The purpose of the present research was to investigate teacher CS self-efficacy during a professional development and curriculum development project for middle school teachers and the pilot testing of the created curriculum. The goal of this two-year, Federally funded program was to develop and pilot a middle school curriculum incorporating game design and Computer Science education via the Unity game development platform. Findings indicate that the project design allowed teachers to develop positive self-efficacy beliefs.
