Abstract

Principals across the country have faced impossible situations over the last three school years. There are few districts where these challenges have been more pronounced than Chicago Public Schools. While some principals have decided to leave the district, many leaders have shown tremendous resilience and have ambitious aspirations for the future. This study seeks to understand how these experiences of crisis leadership have shaped Chicago principals’ leadership identity and school vision.
