Abstract

This project focuses on the growing attention of pedagogies that disrupt traditional approaches and narratives in the social studies. In examining the practices of Latinx bilingual preservice teachers, this critical case study reveals the importance of examining the ideological and civic stances taken up in using critical multicultural children’s literature as a means to introduce other civic narratives to young Latinx students.
