Drawing from my experiences as a Palestinian Muslim woman in hijab, scholar, educator, and mother (including to a dis/abled child), I narrative inquired alongside Fatima, a Syrian Muslim in hijab and mother (including to two dis/abled children) with refugee experiences who re/settled in Canada. Exploring some of our experiences of dis/citizenship, our stories give a sense of the many ways that we draw upon our embodied knowledges to sustain our curriculum-making alongside others, even as we contend(ed) with (ongoing) discrimination and (re)trauma(tization). I re/tell stories of dis/citizenship that Fatima and I experienced during our research to not only highlight injustices but also possibilities for co-creating and re/membering ethical relationality in classrooms, schools, communities, and other (education) systems.
