Abstract

How do we bridge neuroscience and pedagogy meaningfully to impact teacher practice?

To explore this, we must study Mind, Brain, and Education (MBE) teacher training programs. The researcher engaged in a systematic literature review using an iterative, constant-comparative analysis of MBE teacher training studies to identify trends in the trainings and provide a perspective on the impact on teacher practices. Of the 68 studies meeting the initial criteria for further review, 13 studies were found to address the research purpose of identifying the characteristics and outcomes of MBE teacher training programs. The resulting analysis indicates a paucity of research in MBE training for educators. Further, it offers some general insight into possible applications for practitioners and direction for future research.
