The modern, globalized market requires rapid responses to changing needs; ensuring that programs align with labor market demand and prepare students for lucrative and rewarding opportunities is vital. Leveraging novel data, I plan to evaluate the Missouri postsecondary Career and Technical Education (CTE) system by program of study. Data track students from high school through their postsecondary career and allow for short and medium term examination of academic and labor market outcomes resultant from participation in CTE. There is limited evidence on outcomes from postsecondary CTE, particularly from rural states. This evidence would help refine and align programs with student and labor market need.
