Abstract

Educational administration in international education is rarely studied even though the number of international schools worldwide is increasing. This study investigates the leadership practice in non-traditional international schools in China where the student body is mainly from the local community but the curriculum implemented is different than the national system and taught in English. Ten??? local principals of these schools were interviewed about their experiences leading these schools, as well as their previous leadership experiences in the national system. Common challenges, actions and strategies are discussed.
