Teacher Leader Development Across an Innovative Professional Development Schools Network

Abstract

The purpose of this presentation is to share findings from a study of teacher leaders engaged in job-embedded professional learning within an innovative Teacher Leadership Academy in a Professional Development Schools Network. Specifically, we examined the TLs’ perceptions of their preparation and how they developed through engagement in the job-embedded learning within the PDS iNetwork. Additionally, we wanted to know the impact of these TLs by understanding their change efforts within their schools and across the PDS network.  Through their accounts, we can discover successes, challenges, and continued needs to develop equity-centered TLs.
