Gifted education varies by state and even more so at the district level. Implementation of research-supported practices and services have been mixed at best. This study was designed to learn from gifted education coordinators and their perceptions of identification practices, services, and program quality. Gifted education coordinators were asked about current practices and factors (positive and negative) that impacted gifted education in their district. Researchers used mixed methods to explore multiple dimensions of gifted education services, including equity, from the perspective of gifted education coordinators. Thematic analyses revealed areas, such as administrator support and curriculum, as having a major impact on gifted education services. Participants also reported current methods of identification and their perceptions of contributing factors to underrepresentation.
