Sun, April 16, 11:40am to 1:10pm CDT (11:40am to 1:10pm CDT), Hyatt Regency Chicago, Floor: East Tower - Exhibit Level, Riverside West Exhibition Hall

Abstract

There is a growing trend at the university level to integrate personal development courses into the curriculum to promote holistic development among the students, helping them thrive in this fast-changing and uncertain world. This systematic literature review was conducted to synthesize relevant literature related to focus areas and the impact of personal development courses on the personal growth of university students. Relevant studies were identified in two databases: ERIC and PsycINFO. 450 records were screened, of which six empirical studies were selected for this systematic review. Identity, mindset, well-being, interpersonal skills, and cognitive skills were the five themes identified from the selected records. Improvements in the students in these themes after the intervention were reported.
