This paper shares how creation of a stepwise, guided online educational showcase process convened and fostered a research and scholarship-oriented Community of Practice (CoP) at a North American dental school. Study participants were 69 graduate students enrolled in the school’s professional dental and dental hygiene programs, with 41 of 69 students responding to a showcase experiential learning survey. Findings from 41 showcase survey respondents showed a scholarship-oriented showcase process supports student development and interest in professional research and scholarship, social learning among students, faculty and professionals of health professions education programs, reflection about online learning experiences, and students' future career growth as scholar-practitioners of a health profession.
