Working in collaboration with an outside researching firm, we examined how early career (EC) teachers in the charter sector were provided with professional development supports, and the degree to which perceptions of support efficacy guided career-oriented decision making. Preliminary findings suggest that extensive supports and favorable school environments allowed early career teachers to navigate professional duties more effectively and lead to greater stability in career-oriented decision making. Implications for authorizing bodies in the charter sector are discussed, including how leveraging resources within the boundaries of an authorizing authority produces stability across a portfolio of charter schools.
