Fri, April 14, 2:50 to 4:20pm CDT (2:50 to 4:20pm CDT), Sheraton Grand Chicago Riverwalk, Floor: Level 4, Sheraton Ballroom IV and V

Abstract

The global pandemic has raised significant challenges for the higher education sector, where the teaching staff was brought into the spotlight and was expected to adjust its educational practice with insufficient or minimum training and preparation. A case study survey was conducted, evaluating the effectiveness of the university measurers in dealing with this unexpected change and specifically the professional development webinar series. The study results highlight the importance and need to support, guide, and steer the teaching staff to develop those skills that will allow them to appropriately design and develop learning environments aligned to the requirements of the new trends: distance education, blended learning, open, flexible and personalized learning.
