Abstract

This paper studies the experience of adjunct faculty members who teach dual credit (DC) (also known as dual enrollment and concurrent enrollment) courses in Texas. We study one large community college district in Texas, where adjunct faculty travel to high schools to teach DC courses. In this qualitative study, we use interviews with 15 faculty to answer: 1. How do adjunct college faculty experience teaching dual credit? 2. To what extent are faculty included in DC policymaking at SCC? Our study aims to address gaps in the literature surrounding DC course delivery and the experiences of DC faculty.
