With a focus on transformation within Ikeda’s (2003) life-sized paradigm, this study combined arts-based research (Baron & Eisner, 2012) with a value-creative dialogic research methodology (Bradford, 2018, 2022) to explore the ways in which dialogue with, through, and about art shapes our consciousness and the development of our peacebuilding dispositions. In our dialogic encounters we found art to be a two-way vector, facilitating value creation (Goulah, 2012) across three themes: the deepening of relationality through the polyphony and heteroglossia inherent in artistic dialogue, the temporality of art and dialogue and the learning that transpires in the moment and in the reverberations of the moment, and the ways in which our understanding of our artist-self contributed to our meaning making.
