Abstract

This paper highlights the importance of Chicana/Latina feminism (CLF) platica methodologies, by focusing on the importance of researcher positionality. This paper takes an in-depth analysis of positionalities in CLF plática methodology, through the need for reflexibility, reciprocity, knowledge building, and acknowledging the knowledge held by Chicana/Latina researchers. Although research has been claimed to be objective, it is important to examine the ways in which researcher positionality has influenced research and qualitative methodology inquiry. Furthermore, this paper highlights the researcher’s positionality and provides critical insight in qualitative research studies.
