Findings suggest that Hip-Hop education repositions youth as the authors of their own lives and agents of change. The resulting Hip-Hop learning space becomes an oasis of identity development, self-expression, and collective empowerment in and through the music. For the community educators who work within these four organizations, when asked about the meaning of Hip-Hop, the themes of life, freedom, culture and truth were repeated. These elements were considered as essential to the pedagogy, as well as the formation of the spaces.
