Identifying Highly Effective Interventions

Thu, April 13, 8:00 to 9:30am CDT (8:00 to 9:30am CDT), Sheraton Grand Chicago Riverwalk, Floor: Level 2, Michigan B

Abstract

The research community has gone to great lengths to rationalize the importance of small effect sizes as being credible evidence that the intervention "works," however, there is growing evidence that the impacts documented by small effect sizes do not replicate in subsequent research or in practice. Using two databases, interventions with effect sizes of at least .50 are identified as evidence that highly effective interventions indeed exist and should be a priority for implementation and further replication research.
