Abstract

As a district level administrator for the Fine Arts, I am always searching for ways to improve equity in arts education programs. This study examined practices of five New York state school district fine arts administrators with regards to equitable practices. School districts varied in their approaches to equity for students in arts education, however there were several common practices or traits of districts that were meeting with success. This paper seeks to add to the research of equity in arts education with leadership practices that can be shared from a district leader point of view.
