There is a severe underrepresentation of Black Methodologists leading educational research. Yet, Black Methodologists can bring new perspectives to research. Enter IMAGINE, a movement representing the mixed methods research (MMR) community that is dedicated to Integrative Mixed methods Anti-racist Groundwork for Investigating and Nurturing Equity, and committed to the reimagining of MMR via dismantling hierarchies that create unnecessary/exclusionary binaries that privilege voices belonging to the dominant majority group! In this paper, we will discuss how the IMAGINE framework is rooted in the meta-philosophy, Critical Dialectical Pluralism. We will demonstrate how developing and sustaining a community of practice within the following three spaces can facilitate the development and nurturance of future Black Methodologists: colleges and universities, K-12 classrooms, and home environments.
