Abstract

This paper shows how Indigenous Zapatista Anti-capitalist Feminism offers alternatives to dismantle patriarchal-capitalist-neoliberal-modernist society but through different epistemological vehicles of knowledge: the metaphor of the Indigenous “Zapatista Defense Girl”. Indigenous Zapatista social movement is the main one in the western hemisphere; they have worked during the last twenty-eight years to stop making capitalism. The findings reveal how the metaphor on the “Zapatista Defense Girl” contained in the original document in Spanish Abra Una Vez indicate that patriarchy and capitalism will be destroyed, but not by taking the power of the state, but through the creation of autonomous communities where female and non-binary individual can live without fear.
