Abstract

This study focuses on analyzing the pedagogical practices teacher educators take within teacher preparation programs towards the advancement of social and racial justice. Additionally, we focus on analyzing the coherency and variation among these practices within and across programs. Through the use of semi-structured interviews with individual teacher educators across three programs, we collected data on how they self-reported their enactment of these pedagogical practices. Our findings showed that across all the programs, there existent concerted among teacher educators across all three programs towards building teacher candidate’s awareness of systemic oppression towards marginalized communities. However, variance emerged in how they used this awareness towards developing teacher candidates’ pedagogical practices.
