Abstract

While research has been an integral part of the growing culture of DEI in academia, the practices implemented in these empirical works can further advance the limitations of the DEI initiatives. As such, it is vital to explore how policies and procedures enacted by research teams can be executed to mitigate racist policies and practices to advance equity in knowledge construction and empirical research. This may be particularly true for studies that aim to translate research into practice. Leveraging our research study examining anti-racism cultures in medical education institutions as a critical case, the purpose of the paper is to critically examine the social and methodological processes through which our research is conducted.
