Strong skills in literacy and science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) are needed to be engaged citizens. If STEM activities (e.g., computer programming, coding) are integrated with the curriculum when children are young, they are more likely to develop an early interest. Unfortunately, children with disabilities often do not receive equitable access to STEM related activities. Relatedly, teachers and caregivers in early childhood settings often lack the requisite knowledge and skills surrounding STEM content. This study applied the Collaborative Apprenticeship Learning (CAL) Model to support teachers and caregivers in inclusive preschool settings as they integrated coding with their curriculum. Impacts on teacher and parent beliefs and practice were examined. Impacts on student critical thinking and sequencing skills were also examined.
