Situating qualitative research methodologies so they align with the context and underlying theories can provide rich pathways for data collection, analysis, and representation. In this study, I utilized recursive practices within the research design enabling the centering of participants’ voices. Further, my study used an interpretive design with narrative representation to explore the meaning-making of National Writing Project (NWP) participants regarding their continued professional development (CPD) with the network. I mirrored the recursive nature of both writing process theory and the NWP’s CPD experiences in protocols embedded in traditional qualitative methods (focus groups and interviews). The resulting feedback loops between research participants as well as between research participants and researcher provided opportunities for collaborative re-visioning of the data.
