Abstract

Professional capital comprises three forms of capital: human capital, social capital, and decisional capital (Hargreaves & Fullan, 2012). In this study, we examined the role that professional capital played in supporting teaching and learning in schools during the first months of the COVID-19 pandemic. We found that schools with high professional capital also exhibit higher levels of social capital and decisional capital. We connect these findings to larger questions regarding leading schools through sustainable change.
