This article describes a narrative inquiry of white social studies teachers’ perception of and response to Ethnic Studies curriculum in the American South. Using Critical Whiteness and Fugitive Pedagogy as theoretical frameworks, participants were asked to read a selection of text then engage in a dialogue about Ethnic Studies and its possibilities as transformational teaching.
