Reshaping Teacher Education Curriculum Through Funds of Knowledge: An Autoethnographic Approach

Abstract

There are an increasing number of Latina students in teacher preparation programs. Creating responsive and inclusive learning contexts is critical in order to ensure their success. In this autoethnographic research project, five Latina bilingual teacher candidates collect their own of funds of knowledge in order to create pedagogical and curriculum changes in the ESL/Bilingual program teacher preparation program. The students critically reflect on their lived experience and propose changes that create a more inclusive and responsive learning experience.
