Abstract

In this theoretical discourse paper, the meaning of debwewin (truth) from an Anishinaabe cultural perspective is explored. An examination around the meaning of debwewin (truth) within cultural sacred stories and narratives help to articulate the impact and meanings of truth within Indigenous research and Indigenous methodology. Anchored in understandings from Indigenous cultural works and research, the paper explores debwewin through themes of thinking, doing, and being.
