In this paper we trace our journey through a three-year postcritical ethnography working with students with severe disability labels in a separate school. Postcritical ethnography calls upon researchers to grapple with positionality, reflexivity, objectivity, and representation. Using these as themes, and drawing examples from researchers’ journal entries, memos, and transcribed weekly team meetings, we reflect upon our process and make connections between disability studies in education and poscritical ethnography as a fruitful methodology for social justice work with students with severe disability labels.
