Thu, April 13, 4:40 to 6:10pm CDT (4:40 to 6:10pm CDT), Swissôtel Chicago, Floor: Event Centre, 1st Floor, Vevey 3

Abstract

This study documents interviews with six indigenous researchers (three Māori and three Hawaiians) about the conceptualization, conduct, and dissemination of their research as guided by the principles of Kaupapa Māori. The study also asks specific questions to tease out the power structures in their research projects, given the devastating colonial histories of Māori and Hawaiians.
