Recent National Data Revealing Parent Involvement Activities That Affect Children's Educational Performance

Abstract

The Covid 19 pandemic has led to emerging parenting practices that might significantly affect their children’s academic success. The purpose of the present study is to explore the association between specific existing parental activities relating to their participation in school and home activities and their children's educational achievement displayed by their school grades.
A multinomial logistic regression was performed to create a model of the relationship between parental involvement factors and membership in the four groups of academic grades. We utilized the data collected from a nationally representative survey conducted in 2019. The model was statistically significant, and the result indicates parental involvement activities demonstrated a positive or negative relationship depending on the type of activity parents engaging in.
