Abstract

Instructional leadership receives much attention because of its emphasis on high-quality teaching and learning. This study aims to test the associations among Chinese instructional
leaders, teacher professional learning, and teachers’ self-efficacy in mainland China. Findings show that instructional leadership not only fosters teacher self-efficacy directly but also improves teacher self-efficacy indirectly and powerfully through fostering beneficial professional learning conditions. Significance and implications are included at the end of the paper.
