Influences of Supervision on Self-Efficacy of Counseling Students

Thu, May 4, 2:30 to 4:00pm CDT (2:30 to 4:00pm CDT), Division E Virtual Sessions, Division E - Section 1: Counseling Virtual Paper Room

Abstract

The supervision of counseling students is an expectation within CACREP programs; however, little research has been done to look at the impact of group versus individual supervision on counseling trainees’ self-efficacy and individual career goals. By asking counseling students in training (CIT) how they view the role of individual vs group supervision and having them reflect upon their experiences with both modalities, the role and benefit of each approach can be more clearly and specifically articulated.
