Scourge or Welfare? How the Internet Affects the Adolescent?

Abstract

Given the increasing use of the Internet arount the world, the impact of Intenet use on adolescents’ development has been receiving increased academic attention. However, the relationship between Internet use and adolescent’s values is not yet fully understood; thus, further research is very necessary. This study used the 2018 and 2020 China Family Panel Studies (CFPS) data to explore the relationship between Internet use and the adolescents’ values with a fixed effect model. This study revealed that Internet use has a negtive association with the adolescents' values.
