Online and remote learning opportunities are increasingly common within the 21st century educational landscape. This study supports the need to adapt education to the COVID-19 pandemic. With more students engaging in remote learning, it is vital that research be conducted in remote elementary education and literacy learning. By analyzing parent and student experiences, data collected in this study provides suggestions for remote learning. The field of education may benefit from innovative remote literacy learning strategies and suggestions for future practices using at-home resources. This study uncovers strategies that work for parents and children as they learn at home. The introspection shared by elementary students while learning remotely provides a unique introspection into ways to improve literacy learning between home and school.
